Washington, D.C. – Today, the Senate Banking Committee held a hearing for President Joe Biden’s nominee for Comptroller of the Currency, Saule Omarova. Omarova is a deeply controversial Cornell Law professor who has advocated for a complete takeover of the retail banking industry by the federal government and financially strangling industries she deems unethical.
…And Joe Biden wants her running our currency!
As if it couldn’t get worse, Omarova once called banking a “quintessential asshole industry.” As a student and admirer of Karl Marx, she has even found time to chastise Senator Joe Manchin for not siding with Democrats enough.
If you think that Saule Omarova’s nomination is radical and nonsensical, you’re not alone. Putting a radical like her in a position of authority over our currency could lead to an even bleaker economic future than we have now. Why are vulnerable members of the Senate Banking committee like Raphael Warnock and Catherine Cortez Masto remaining silent?
