During their time in the United States Senate, Russ Feingold copied Hillary Clinton’s voting record by siding with her 89% of the time.
During their time in the State Department, Russ Feingold copied Hillary Clinton’s reckless conduct by acting like her 100% of the time.
Last week, Wisconsinites learned that Senator Feingold is embroiled in a State Department email scandal of his own amid allegations that he violated federal law. Senator Feingold’s pals in the Obama administration, however, "just coincidentally" ensured that his records won’t be released until December – one month after Election Day.
From their scandal-plagued foundations to their shared love of demanding outrageous speaking fees from struggling colleges, there is, as Charlie Sykes noted yesterday, something "very Hillary Clinton-esque" about Senator Feingold.
As we enter the third week of his Hatch Act scandal, read and watch more of what they are saying about Senator Russ Feingold’s refusal to release his State Department records before Election Day:

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "Johnson slams Feingold on State Dept. records"
Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson called for Democrat Russ Feingold to demand documents be released from his tenure serving with the U.S. State Department. "How long does it take to do an email search?" Johnson said Friday. "It really doesn’t take very long. He should be up front asking the State Department to release those records. If there’s no problem, he should get that released so citizens of Wisconsin can know there’s no problem"…Johnson and others are attempting to raise questions about Feingold’s creation in 2011 of a political nonprofit and PAC, both of which used the name Progressives United. "I’m no lawyer, he is, which means he should have known better," Johnson said. "Look at his behavior. Mr. Campaign Finance Reform, February, 2011, sets up two PACS, raises $10 million, spends 5 to 7 percent on other candidates. The rest he basically spent on himself. He basically set up a shadow campaign that he operated the entire time while he was a State Department employee"…Wicker, chair of the NRSC, expressed optimism about Johnson’s chances against Feingold.
The Washington Free Beacon: "State Dept Withholding Feingold Documents Until After Election"
The State Department will not release documents pertaining to Democratic Senate candidate Russ Feingold’s time at the agency until after the November election, according to a report from Politico. The National Republican Senatorial Committee filed a Freedom of Information Act request nearly 20 months ago seeking correspondence between Feingold, the former senator from Wisconsin who later served as the U.S. special envoy for the Great Lakes Region of Africa from 2013 until 2015, and DSCC chairman Jon Tester (D., Mont.), Sen. Harry Reid (D.,Nev.), and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.). The group alleges that Feingold potentially violated the Hatch Act by discussing his challenge against Republican Sen. Ron Johnson with the sitting senators during his time at the department.
"…[the State Department] likely won’t respond before Election Day to records requests for Feingold’s correspondences while he worked for the department. The records requests were made in February 2015…Republicans say he was actively planning his Senate run while still working for the State Department. They say his actions violated the federal Hatch Act, which restricts the ability of federal workers in the executive branch to engage in political activity — including being a candidate for partisan office."
