Abe’s Birthday

The NRSC sent a birthday gift to Abe’s campaign from Kander Pander. Kander Pander is hoping the Nationals hat will help Abe fit in better when pandering in DC.

The note reads:

Dear Abe,
I know how much we love DC, so I got you this. You can wear it next time we’re there (pandering).

For Background:

Good thing there’s no Missouri geography bee to run for Senate, or Jason Kander may not have made it.

Let me take you on a Twitter journey. On May 4, 2016, Roy Blunt’s grassroots Twitter account tweeted a picture of a young man hitting the phone banks for Blunt – even after his baseball practice.

Abe Rakov, Jason Kander’s campaign manager, decided he would attempt to troll this dedicated teen volunteer, targeting the young man’s hat.

Right when Rakov thought he had the perfect zinger, Twitter pointed out one important detail: That hat has the logo of his Missouri high school baseball team, Webster Groves. Whoops!

Jackson, the young man in the hat, wasn’t going to let Rakov off the hook, tweeting a video response.

Jackson – like most St. Louis Cardinals fans – did not take well to being called a Nationals fan! Many applauded Jackson for getting involved with politics.

Rakov has neither deleted his offensive and false tweet, nor apologized to Jackson for discouraging his political engagement. We can only hope the Kander campaign will leave kids alone, keeping their focus on real policy issues rather than high school volunteers.

Update

[tweet src="https://twitter.com/kanderpander/status/735958659239411713"]

There was a not-so-rare Kander Pander sighting in Washington on Thursday night. After Abe Rakov revealed he knew the Washington Nationals better than Missouri school Webster Groves, Kander Pander was found on the prowl, pandering in DC outside of Nationals Park wearing none other than a Washington Nationals hat (not to be confused with a Webster Groves hat) to the Nationals vs. Cardinals game. As a creature of Washington, it’s unsurprising that Kander Pander owns a Nationals hat. But supporting the Nationals over the Cardinals? That’s low – even for a pandering panda like Kander. Perhaps he can wear his Nationals hat to Webster Groves’ next baseball game!
