After bouncing back from a stroke three years ago, Kirk is showing how well he has recovered. He’s climbing the stairs of some of the tallest buildings in Illinois, demonstrating his vigor and indomitable will.

Drawing on this experience, Sen. Kirk is supporting folks who are going through similar battles. Chicago’s NBC 5 has the details:

Kirk met Friday with the folks he calls "Kirk’s Battle Buddies" at the Rehab Institute of Chicago, where he worked to be able to walk again.

"It’s a way to give support and comfort to people, to make sure they feel they are not alone," Kirk said.

Sen. Kirk’s resilience and strength are inspiring people in his state. He is offering guidance and leadership to them in their moment of need. For more on this story, watch the above video.
