In her op-ed on Fosters.com, Ayotte details the advantages of making contraceptives more accessible:

There are also potential savings to the health care system as a whole. According to the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, every dollar spent on OTC [over-the-counter] medicines accounts for $6 to $7 in savings for the U.S. health system.

Additionally, our legislation would give women greater ability to save for their health care costs by repealing Obamacare’s restrictions on consumer-directed health plans like health savings accounts, medical savings accounts, and flexible spending accounts (FSAs).

I share the goal of increasing women’s access to safe and effective contraceptives and I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance this critically important legislation, which would be a victory for women’s health.

In addition to working across the aisle to make contraceptives more accessible to Americans, Senator Kelly Ayotte has also fought to protect the sanctity of human life.

The Valley News describesAyotte’s efforts to protect infants through new legislation:

Republican New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte is co-sponsoring a bill that would address a growing number of infants being exposed to opioids while in the womb.

The bill introduced by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Democratic Sen. Robert Casey of Pennsylvania would direct the Health Department to develop a strategy to address the alarming number of infants diagnosed with newborn withdrawal.

Furthermore, Bloomberg applauds Senator Ayotte for challenging the IRS and working with them to change their policies to protect victims of identity-theft:

The U.S. Internal Revenue Service agreed to give identity-theft victims copies of bogus tax returns filed in their name, following a sharp rise in fraudulent refund requests.

The IRS announced the change in a letter to Republican Senator Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, who had called for increased transparency for victims of identity theft.

“We have decided to change our policy regarding disclosure of fraudulent identity-theft returns to victims whose name and SSN the fraudulent return was filed under,” IRS Commissioner John Koskinen wrote in a May 28 letter to Ayotte. He said the agency is putting together the new procedure now. The IRS confirmed the letter and declined to comment further.

Ayotte is a proven leader in the Senate, who has been able to work across party lines on behalf of the American people.

Her accomplishments make her likable to both Republicans and Democrats and will make a strong case for her reelection in 2016.
