The New York Times reports that President Obama will utilize his final State of the Union address to again set the tone for the upcoming election:

…Mr. Obama plans a thematic message that effectively will be as much a campaign agenda as a governing document. While not on the ballot himself, Mr. Obama hopes to use what may be the largest television audience left in his presidency to frame the debate about who should replace him and where the country should go from here.

As failed Senate candidates Michelle Nunn and Alison Lundergan Grimes can attest, President Obama’s attempt to frame the 2014 campaign agenda was less than helpful to overly ambitious Democrats in red states.

In 2016, Jason Kander – a fellow inexperienced, ObamaCare-supporting, tax-and-spend liberal who sought higher office before even finishing his first term, is President Obama’s dream surrogate on Missouri’s ballot to continue his failed legacy.

Despite recent attempts to distance himself, Kander praised President Obama for being bold in trying to fix our problems "on a permanent basis."

FLASHBACK:

VIDEO: In 2009, Kander Said, “We Have A Leader, I Believe, In President Obama” And Praised Obama For Being Bold In Trying To Fix Our Problems "On A Permanent Basis." KANDER: “We have a leader, I believe in President Obama. But what I like most about President Obama is that everybody is saying look: things are bad, let’s batten down the hatches, let’s curl up and let it pass. He’s doing what American politicians have not done in a long time, in which he’s saying you know, no, this is the time to be bold and recognize that we have these large problems so instead of just trying to weather these large problems, let’s try to fix these large problems on a permanent basis. So I recognize that’s going to cause a lot of people to be worried by the actions he take, because they are big actions, but I also recognize that it’s a time where we really need bold actions.” (State Rep. Jason Kander, Interview On Kansas City After Hours, Uploaded 8/6/09, 5:10)

Jason Kander and Barack Obama are therefore in lockstep as they fight for their shared policy agenda to continue on a permanent basis.

Yet, as they did in 2008 and 2012, Missourians will vote against President Obama on the ballot this fall.

Only this time, their votes will be cast against Jason Kander.
