Debbie Stabenow announced her opposition to Judge Brett Kavanaugh just 4 days after he was nominated, proving she was never willing to consider ANY nominee from President Trump. And today, Stabenow doubled down and voted against even allowing Judge Kavanaugh a floor vote.
By planning to oppose any nominee President Trump put forth, regardless of qualifications or experience, Stabenow showed voters she’s more interested in partisan politics than doing her job. And on top of that, Stabenow’s refusal to call out her left-wing colleagues’ antics throughout the process shows her loyalty lies with liberals in Washington, not with Michiganders.
“Debbie Stabenow let her colleagues turn the Kavanaugh hearings into a complete circus, proving she never took his nomination into any real consideration,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “Stabenow was never going to support Judge Kavanaugh and has continually chosen to side with her party bosses in Washington over Michiganders.”
