With a high-dollar DC fundraiser to complement the millions it has pledged to raise, J Street – a top lobbying group for the Iran deal, rewarded Duckworth for rewarding the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism with access to more than $100 billion.
Last year, Duckworth flagrantly ignored the will of the American people by supporting President Obama’s Iran nuclear deal:
- CNN/ORC Poll: Majority wants Congress to reject Iran deal
- Fox News: Fox News Poll: Majority would reject Iran nuke deal
- Gallup: Obama Gets Low Marks for His Handling of Iran
- The Hill: Poll finds growing opposition to Iran deal
- Monmouth University Poll: 61% of Americans do not trust Iran at all to abide by the terms of the agreement
- Pew Research Center: Iran Nuclear Agreement Meets With Public Skepticism
- Quinnipiac University National Poll: American Voters Oppose Iran Deal 2-1
Despite all of the credulity she displayed last September regarding Iran, Duckworth did manage to get one thing right: her telling admission that the deal was "imperfect."
Here are some of Iran’s worst hits of aggression since Duckworth offered her support for the "imperfect" deal:
- Associated Press: "Iran fires 2 missiles marked with ‘Israel must be wiped out’"
- The Hill: "Iran fires rockets near US aircraft carrier"
- Military Times: "Iran to build monument to U.S. Navy sailors’ capture, detention"
- Reuters: "U.S. sailors captured by Iran were held at gunpoint"
- Reuters: "Americans missing in Baghdad kidnapped by Iran-backed militia"
- Reuters: "Iran vows to pursue missile program despite new U.S. sanctions"
- The Washington Post: "Iran vows to keep firing ballistic missiles"
Tammy Duckworth has successfully completed a rite of passage for any Chicago politician: securing financial benefit for ignoring the will of the people.
