WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week, Socialist Zohran Mamdani will be sworn in as the Mayor of New York City by none other than Bernie Sanders. Mamdani’s successful campaign has become the blueprint for radical Democrats in messy primaries across the nation.
In Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed has adopted Mamdani’s far-left agenda and was quick to endorse him. As a result, polling shows that El-Sayed is effectively tied for the lead in the Democratic primary. In comparison, Chuck Schumer’s hand-picked candidate Haley Stevens, who recently voted to condemn socialism in the House of Representatives, has even supportive Democrats saying “she’s just not great in terms of how she presents.”
“The Michigan Mamdani, Abdul El-Sayed, was quick to endorse Zohran and is centering his campaign around his socialist and extremist agenda. Abdul’s skyrocketing polling among the Democrat base shows they are abandoning swing voters to rally behind Mamdani’s radical, copy-cat candidates, just like in other messy primaries across the nation,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.
Abdul El-Sayed adopted Mamdani’s far-left agenda:
- El-Sayed literally wrote the book on Medicare for All.
- El-Sayed supports defunding the police, saying that “Defunding the police is disinvesting in the means of incarcerating someone or killing them on the streets.”
- El-Sayed has supported abolishing ICE, and wanted to make Michigan a sanctuary state.
- El-Sayed supports biological men in women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports.
- El-Sayed supports going “beyond” voluntary guidance to schools on LGBTQ students, including involving gender identity into sexual education classes.
- El-Sayed opposed the Supreme Court’s ruling in U.S. v. Skrmetti, which ruled that bans against gender-affirming care for minors were constitutional.
- El-Sayed supports providing a universal basic income (UBI) to all Americans so they don’t have to work.
- El-Sayed accused Israel of committing “genocide.”
- El-Sayed has called for an end to American aid to Israel.
