The NRSC launched a new ad in Arizona today, slamming Kyrsten Sinema for abandoning her duty in the middle of the nation’s rising opioid crisis.
The ad highlights Sinema’s decision to pack up and leave early from a hearing on border security and the opioid crisis – despite making time for a fundraiser in Green Valley later that day. While overdoses have skyrocketed, Sinema voted against securing ports of entry where more than 90% of illegal drugs enter the United States. Worse, Sinema couldn’t even be bothered to sit through a full hearing in her own hometown on drug abuse and border security, preferring instead to hobnob with her friends and political supporters.

“Sinema has all the time in the world for her donors, but can’t be bothered to work on the issues most important to Arizonans,” said NRSC Spokesman Calvin Moore. “The opioid crisis has devastated too many lives, but instead of getting to work, Kyrsten Sinema showed she’d rather phone it in and head out early to kick back with her friends and supporters.”
