Senator Michael Bennet has a track record of placing the partisan wishes of party bosses in Washington above the wishes of Coloradans; his support for ObamaCare is no exception.

With the New York Times reporting that health insurance companies are seeking big rate increases for 2016, it’s worth revisiting yet another of Senator Bennet’s broken promises on ObamaCare.

“In 2009, Senator Michael Bennet promised Coloradans that ObamaCare would lower the cost of health insurance, but unfortunately that has turned out to be untrue,” said NRSC spokesman Matt Connelly. “It’s time for Senator Bennet to start putting Coloradans first instead of voting for bad policies like ObamaCare that drive up healthcare costs for Colorado families.”

BACKGROUND…

In October 2009, Michael Bennet Said Obamacare “Will Lower Premiums And The Cost Of Health Insurance Coverage.” BENNET: “Health care reform done right is going to make an enormous difference for small businesses and for the people employed by small businesses. It will lower premiums and the cost of health insurance coverage; provide tax credits for small businesses that provide health insurance –that do the right thing; exempt most small businesses from employer responsibility requirements; subsidize health insurance for employees in small businesses that do not provide health insurance; increase entrepreneurship to expand the pool of workers available to small businesses; and eliminate job lock. Job lock means having to stay in a job because you are so scared of losing your insurance.” (Sen. Michael Bennet, Congressional Record, 10/15/09, p. S10452)
