Back in July, even before President Trump first announced Judge Brett Kavanaugh as his pick, Bob Casey announced he would oppose any nominee to replace Justice Kennedy on the Court. And today he followed through, voting against even allowing a final confirmation vote.
Casey’s bizarre announcement was just a preview of the political stunts Senate Democrats would pull in the following months as they attempted to derail the unquestionably qualified Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Casey’s refusal to call out his left-wing colleagues’ antics and vote to block consideration of Judge Kavanaugh shows his true loyalty lies with liberals in Washington, not with Pennsylvanians.
“Bob Casey was clear that his vote on the Supreme Court was all about politics when he announced his opposition to ANY nominee put forward by President Trump,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “When Casey votes against Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation, Pennsylvanians will know that his only motive was to please his liberal donors and left-wing base.”
