Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Chuck Schumer once again caved to the Socialist Left, led by Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as he tries to convince her not to primary him in 2022. The Majority Leader announced he is endorsing India Walton, a socialist running for Mayor of Buffalo over four-term incumbent Democrat Mayor, Byron Brown.
Although Walton won the primary, other New York Democrats came to Brown’s defense for fear of what socialism would do to Buffalo and New York state.
He is not alone. Many Buffalonians and New Yorkers have been alarmed by her policing plans and placing the state’s second-largest city in the hands of a socialist who believes the government alone can fix problems.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “The Chuck Schumer of old would have never endorsed a socialist and would fight for his longtime Democrat ally. But, when his political survival is at stake, Chuck Schumer will throw anyone under the bus and endorse any candidate to stay in power. Chuck Schumer will say or do anything to save his own skin.”
