The U.S. economy added 162,000 jobs in August, beating economists’ expectations yet again as Republicans advance a pro-worker, pro-family agenda that Democrats routinely oppose. The service industry saw one of the strongest gains, with restaurants and bars adding nearly 60,000 jobs.
“Senate Republicans are fighting to ensure Americans keep more of every paycheck. Meanwhile, Democrats want to raise taxes on tips and overtime, squeezing waiters, hairstylists, bartenders, and other hardworking Americans trying to make ends meet,” said NRSC National Press Secretary Bernadette Breslin.
