Washington, D.C. – Voters in Seattle, WA elected Republican Ann Davison as the next city attorney. Davison won with 58% of the vote and is the first Republican in the office since 1989.

There is no question this is a clear reaction to the crime issues and the city’s record level of gun violence this past year. The Democrat elected officials in Seattle caved to their party’s cries to “defund the police” and slashed the police department’s budget by a whopping 18%! Within 17 months, 250 officers left the department and crime surged.

As a reminder, Democrat Senator Patty Murray was nowhere to be found…

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “Washingtonians are rejecting the Democrats’ radical agenda and are making their voices heard at the ballot box. For the first time since 1989, a Republican was elected as Seattle’s city attorney. This is a clear reaction to the gun violence and crime surge this past year when Patty Murray had her head in the sand. She is more concerned with Democrats’ radical Washington agenda than she is with the well-being of the citizens of her state. But don’t worry, Washingtonians will make their voices heard again in November 2022.”
