Tammy Baldwin’s recently filed campaign finance report shows she’s in big trouble this November.
With Election Day still months away, reports show Senator Baldwin has already spent more on television than any other Senate Democrat running for re-election. Keep in mind it’s only April, and yet she’s already airing her fourth television ad of the cycle and has already blown more than $1.7 million on the airwaves.
Those are big sums. Especially this early. But when you a look at her approval ratings in the state it’s easy to see why she’s running so scared. Tammy Baldwin easily remains among the least popular Senate Democrats.
Only real question is: when only 37% of voters have a favorable view of the the job you’re doing in office, will any of the millions she’s spending really even matter?
“With her approval ratings in the doldrums, it’s clear Tammy Baldwin’s in deep trouble this November – and she knows it,” said NRSC Spokesman Calvin Moore. “She can run all the ads she wants, but it won’t change the fact the that Wisconsin voters are ready to hold Senator Baldwin accountable for turning her back on them this November.”
