Evan Bayh is a Hillary Clinton supporter, apologist, and, in his own eyes, a potential vice presidential nominee. And he has done everything he can to downplay the federal investigation of Hillary Clinton.
While the Department of Justice was looking into Clinton’s email server, Bayh dismissed the investigation as a “distraction.”
In February 2016, Bayh Called Hillary Clinton’s Email Investigation “A Distraction” And Said “The Election Is Really Not Going To Be About Whether She Should Have Using Two Cell Phones As Opposed To One.” KENT: “Final question. Are you worried about the e-mail situation as the FBI and Department of Justice continue to investigate the servers and the classified e-mails?” BAYH: “I’m worried about it because it’s a distraction. It’s taking a lot of time. There is only so much time to go…”
With the FBI now re-opening its investigation of Bayh’s presidential candidate, it’s clear that Clinton’s potentially illegal actions are much more than a “distraction.” But anyone expecting Bayh to say a critical word about his political ally will be waiting for a while. Bayh was so dismissive of the investigation during a Fox News panel appearance that he offered to “bet everyone here a steak dinner this will not be an issue in the upcoming election.”

Looks like dinner is on Evan Bayh tonight – but more importantly, will he finally denounce Clinton’s highly questionable practices or will he continue to stand by one of his closest friends in Washington?
