Washington, D.C. – Cheri Beasley is up on TV with an ad bemoaning the influence of corporate PAC money. She even goes so far as to say that she doesn’t take a dime of corporate PAC money.
Well, that is not the truth.
- In 2021 and 2022, Beasley accepted $133,000 from numerous leadership and association PACs that are funded by corporate PAC contributions, including Amazon, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and Google.
- In 2021 and 2022, Beasley accepted $284,663 from corporate executives.
- In 2021 and 2022, Beasley accepted $18,119 from corporate lobbyists, including from Big Tobacco and Big Pharma lobbyists.
Will Cheri Beasley return the money? We doubt it. But it’s clear that Cheri Beasley is more interested in political talking points than the actual money. Hypocrisy at its finest.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Like so many Democrats running for office, Cheri Beasley is a hypocrite when it comes to corporate PAC money. Her latest ad is, at best, wildly misleading and she knows it. She should save the crocodile tears and return all the money she has gotten from corporate PACs, corporate execs, and their lobbyists.”
