Embattled Democrat Senator Joe Manchin is out with his first TV ad of the cycle, putting on his folksy “Washington sucks” act. But when you take a look at who’s funding those ads, it’s clear that it’s not West Virginians who are interested in keeping Manchin in office.

Manchin’s first quarter campaign finance report shows that Manchin raked in $80,566 from the entertainment industry at a single Hollywood fundraiser in March. Manchin’s Hollywood backers include Hillary Clinton’s favorite billionaire, Haim Saban, Disney Chairman Robert Iger and Oscar winning director Steven Spielberg. Manchin may think Washington sucks, but he sure loves California!

“Joe Manchin’s ‘Washington sucks’ act isn’t fooling anyone,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Manchin has turned his back on West Virginians, while becoming a darling of the Hollywood left by opposing President Trump on everything from tax cuts to building the wall.”
