Why hasn’t Mark Kelly invited the President to see the crisis he created?
Washington, D.C. – Joe Biden can’t be bothered to visit the Southern Border. Last night, when asked if he plans to visit the border, Biden said: “I haven’t had a whole hell of a lot of time to get down [to the Southern Border].” Click the screenshot below to watch.
Joe Biden has plenty of time to ride bikes at his Delaware beach house but doesn’t have time to address the unprecedented border crisis he created. It’s not surprising that Biden can’t find time in his “busy” schedule to visit the border given his administration’s pattern of downplaying and downright ignoring the border crisis.
The reality is that there is a crisis of epic proportions. There were 1.7 MILLION illegal border crossings in FY ’21 – the most single-year illegal border crossings in the history of our country.
Local law enforcement at the border is overwhelmed and forced to conduct dangerous rescue missions. Human smugglers speed through school zones to evade border agents, endangering American children. Border town officials, including Democrats, who witness the reality of Biden’s border crisis everyday have been begging Joe Biden to visit. But there’s one elected official who doesn’t mind that Biden spends time at the beach instead of the border.
Mark Kelly, who represents a Southern Border state, which is overwhelmed by Biden’s border crisis, STILL hasn’t asked Joe Biden to visit the border. D.C. Darling Mark Kelly (who is part of the federal government) likes to point out that the federal government isn’t doing enough to address illegal immigration. So why doesn’t he ask the leader of the federal government to skip a bike ride and visit the border?
Statement from NRSC Chairman Rick Scott: “It didn’t take Mark Kelly long to learn how to speak politician. He tells Arizonans one thing but does the opposite in Washington. If Mark Kelly really wanted to fix the border crisis he helped create, he would invite Biden to witness the crisis firsthand. Instead, Kelly votes to defund border security and refuses to invite Joe Biden to Arizona. Mark Kelly is good for Biden’s amnesty and open borders agenda but bad for Arizonans.”
