A new report from the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) shows that middle-class families are the biggest winners under the Senate tax relief bill, even as Chuck Schumer and Washington Democrats continue their threats to obstruct. But whose side is Joe Manchin on?
Chuck Schumer is warning red state Democrats to stay in line with the strategy of obstruction Senate Dems have committed to on taxes. But with the JCT confirming that the middle class stands to benefit the most from Senate Republicans’ plan, Joe Manchin’s choice is clear. Manchin must now decide whether to stick with Schumer and his political games, or to work to give West Virginia families the tax cut they want and need.
“Cutting taxes for middle-class West Virginia families should be an easy call for Joe Manchin, but he still refuses to take a stance,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “If Joe Manchin lacks the political courage to stand up to Chuck Schumer on tax relief, what exactly can West Virginians count on him for?”
