16. That’s the number of times Bill Nelson has run for public office since he first began his political career in 1972.

Yet after all these years of supposedly representing Floridians, his constituents still have no idea who Bill Nelson is, forcing national Democrats to swoop in and run bio ads for him.

Today marks the release of the second—you read that right—second bio ad that liberal Super PACs are running in a sad attempt to aid Bill Nelson’s failing campaign. Even more laughable, those same liberal Super PACs are trying to paint Nelson as an independent when he’s voted with Democratic Party leaders 92 percent of time.

Guess this is what happens when you’ve been in office for nearly half a century and have no real record to show for it.

“After nearly half of a century of running for public office, you would think Floridians would know all about Bill Nelson,” said NRSC Spokesperson Camille Gallo. “But because of Bill Nelson’s serious lack of accomplishments, liberal DC Super PACs are forced to flush money down the toilet introducing him all over again to voters. It couldn’t be clearer that it’s time to retire Bill Nelson and get Rick Scott working for Florida in Washington.”
