Missourians are enjoying the economic benefits of the Republican tax cut plan as employers including Great Southern Bancorp are doling out bonuses, but Claire McCaskill is too upset about the bill’s passage to even acknowledge her constituents’ good fortune.

When asked about Great Southern’s bonuses by the Springfield News-Leader, McCaskill refused to comment, instead referring the reporter to a statement she made two months ago about her opposition to tax cuts. It appears McCaskill is suffering from a case of sour grapes after her dishonest rhetoric about the Republican plan was proven false just days after the bill was passed, but she’s going to have to do a better job answering questions about its success as Missourians continue to see more money in their paychecks in the months ahead.

“A $1,000 bonus may not buy a lot of fuel for Claire McCaskill’s private plane, but it sure means a lot to Missouri families,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “McCaskill can dodge questions about the success of the Republican tax cuts, but Missourians won’t forget that she voted against putting more money in their pockets.”
