Senator Sherrod Brown is bringing fellow anti-energy liberal, Oregon Senator Ron Wyden, to Ohio for a two day fundraising swing starting this morning.

The two far-left pals will be crisscrossing the state telling big donors about their mutual support for job-killing policies like Obama’s clean power plan and opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline. But Wyden has staked out an even more extreme position on energy, calling for the EPA to go even further than the disastrous Clean Power Plan, and joining extremists like Elizabeth Warren in calling for a crackdown on natural gas development.

Ron Wyden is likely just the first of what will be a parade of big-name liberals making their way to Ohio to campaign for their good friend Senator Brown. Brown has consistently made it clear that if there’s a conflict between the interests of Ohioans and Washington liberals, he will always side with his friends in Washington.

Background:

In 2014, Senator Wyden Signed A Letter To The EPA Calling For Stronger Carbon Emission Reductions Than The Original Clean Power Plan Proposal Outlined. “White the emissions reductions goal of the Clean Power Plan are laudable, we believe that with modest changes to reflect real-world market and technological conditions, the plan can, and should, achieve even greater emissions reductions.” (Ron Wyden, Letter To The Environment Protection Agency, United States Senate, 12/9/2014)

In 2014, Senator Wyden, Along With Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, And Other Liberal Senators Signed a Letter To The Office Of Management And Budget Calling For A Crackdown On Fracking. “According to the Interior Department, more than 90 percent of all new oil and gas wells drilled on public lands employ hydraulic fracturing. The raping expansion of the utilization of this process in the United States has caused significant concern regarding the possible contamination of groundwater sources, air pollution and the protection of public health and safety.” (Ron Wyden, Letter To The Office Of Management And Budget, United States Senate, 9/30/2014)
