After paying lip service to giving fair consideration to Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court after his meeting on Monday, Sherrod Brown took less than a week to announce he’s voting no on the indisputably qualified judge.

Brown’s decision comes as no surprise, given he previously joined his #resistance colleagues’ unsuccessful attempt to derail Justice Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Court last year. It’s clear Brown had no intention of ever giving either Judge Kavanaugh or Justice Gorsuch a fair shake and was always going to take his cues from his liberal donors in Washington.

“Sherrod Brown never had any intention of giving Judge Brett Kavanaugh the consideration he deserves,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “From the day President Trump announced Judge Kavanaugh as his pick for the Supreme Court, it was clear Brown would bow down to the left and vote no. Today’s announcement that Brown will vote against an indisputably qualified nominee should come as a surprise to no one.”
