As Debbie Stabenow and her fellow Washington Democrats continue to blindly oppose tax reform and the financial relief it will provide Michiganders, it’s clear her party is unable to see how radical they’ve become.
Look no further than Senators Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz’s debate on tax policy. Sanders, a member of Senate Democrats’ leadership team, was unable to provide an answer about the difference between socialists and Democrats on tax policy. Self-described socialist Bernie Sanders can’t answer what the difference is between a socialist and a Democrat on taxes, but Michiganders deserve to know if Debbie Stabenow is able to.
“Washington Democrats like Debbie Stabenow have become increasingly out-of-touch as their party has been taken over by self-described socialists,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “If Stabenow can’t tell Michiganders the difference between her position on taxes and that of socialists, it will be clear that there isn’t one.”
