It looks like Bill Nelson can’t make up his mind. He still hasn’t decided whether he will support the nomination of Gina Haspel to lead the CIA or play partisan politics with our national security.

This indecision comes after the veteran CIA agent has received widespread praise:

  • Jeremy Bash, former Democratic chief counsel to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, said, “Confirming Gina Haspel would send exactly the right signal to the intelligence community and the rest of the country…”
  • Marc A. Thiessen, American Enterprise Institute Fellow called her, “quite possibly the most qualified person ever nominated to lead the CIA.”
  • And 72 former CIA officers have endorsed

But after being in Washington for so long, it must be tough for career politician Bill Nelson to figure out if he’ll side with his liberal DC buddies or not.

Now that Gina Haspel’s five-hour long Intelligence Committee hearing has ended, it’s about time for Bill Nelson to give Floridians a straight answer. Will he put partisanship aside and vote to confirm Gina Haspel or will he stand with extreme liberals in opposition?
