As Joe Manchin and his fellow Washington Democrats continue to blindly oppose tax reform and the financial relief it will provide West Virginians, it’s clear his party is unable to see how radical they’ve become.
Look no further than Senators Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz’s debate on tax policy. Sanders, a member of Senate Democrats’ leadership team, was unable to provide an answer about the difference between socialists and Democrats on tax policy. Self-described socialist Bernie Sanders can’t answer what the difference is between a socialist and a Democrat on taxes, but West Virginians deserve to know if Joe Manchin is able to.
“Washington Democrats like Joe Manchin have become increasingly out-of-touch as their party has been taken over by self-described socialists,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “If Manchin can’t tell West Virginians the difference between his position on taxes and that of socialists, it will be clear that there isn’t one.”
