Bob Casey continued his bizarre lurch to the far left yesterday, as he joined some of the most extreme members of the Democratic Party in calling for President Trump’s resignation.
Casey has become increasingly outspoken in his liberalism since the 2016 election saw Pennsylvanians vote for President Trump and Senator Pat Toomey, leading folks to ask why he had suddenly become an “aggressive progressive.” Casey has followed through on his tough talk with his votes in the Senate, where he has opposed President Trump’s agenda across the board, including voting against a middle-class tax cut, but he has now entered new territory, calling for the 2016 election to be overturned.
“Someone should tell Bob Casey that the 2016 election is over and the American people, including nearly 3 million Pennsylvanians, elected President Trump,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Pennsylvanians are sick and tired of Bob Casey’s toxic brand of partisanship and deserve a Senator who will fight for them instead of playing political games.”
