Casey picks “resistance” over national security
Bob Casey is sticking to his pattern of appeasing his far-left base instead of doing what’s best for the country, announcing that he will vote against CIA Director Mike Pompeo’s nomination as Secretary of State.
Casey’s announcement means that he will vote to keep the nation’s top diplomatic post vacant at a time when the world faces crises in Syria and North Korea, and he will reject an eminently qualified nominee on partisan grounds. His decision proves once again that Casey will always put the wishes of liberals in Washington over doing what’s best for Pennsylvania and the nation.
“With his announcement that he’ll oppose Mike Pompeo, Bob Casey is showing that not even national security will get in the way of his lurch to the left,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Casey has proven once and for all that he’s not the moderate he pretended to be to get elected.”
