Bob Casey continued his hard turn to the left at his town hall in Pittsburgh yesterday, promising to fight to preserve job-killing energy regulations.
In front of a crowd of liberal activists, including dozens in matching blue t-shirts supporting PennEnvironment, a far-left environmental group, Casey vowed to fight for the Obama-era Clean Power Plan. The Clean Power Plan, if implemented, would cost Pennsylvania an estimated 18,000 lost jobs and raise energy prices by 25% for Pennsylvania families. The plan’s coal regulations would be particularly devastating, putting thousands of Pennsylvania coal miners out of work.
“Instead of trying to cozy up to far left environmentalists, Bob Casey should be working to fight for Pennsylvania jobs,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Bob Casey’s turn to the hard left may earn him praise from Washington liberals, but it shows just how out of touch he is with Pennsylvania voters.”
