Bob Casey continued his lurch to the left today as he chose to ignore the will of Pennsylvania voters and announced that he would vote against Judge Neil Gorsuch’s confirmation to the Supreme Court.

With his announcement, Casey joins his party’s most liberal members in Washington, including Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, who have vowed to attempt to block Gorsuch. In addition to Pennsylvania voters, Casey is also ignoring legal experts from across the political spectrum, who have given near universal praise to Gorsuch as his hearing has proceeded.

But how far is Casey willing to go? In this morning’s statement, Casey did not address whether he would join the Senate Democrats’ filibuster and attempt to deny Judge Gorsuch an up or down vote by the full Senate. Casey must immediately come clean and tell Pennsylvanians just how far to the left he has drifted.

NRSC Comment: “By opposing Judge Neil Gorsuch, Bob Casey is aligning himself with the far left instead of honoring the will of Pennsylvania voters. Pennsylvanians will remember Casey’s betrayal when they head to the polls in 2018.” – NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera
