Chuck Schumer and the DSCC are so worried about their Senate candidate in Iowa, Josh Turek, that they convinced the Schumer-funded outside group, VoteVets, to buy statewide ads promoting him. There is just one problem: VoteVet’s mission is to elect veterans, and Josh Turek is not a veteran.

This comes after recent polling and fundraising shows that radical, trans activist Zach Wahls is the clear frontrunner in Democrats’ messy primary. Zach Wahls has previously joined Democrat candidates across the country in calling for Chuck Schumer to step down and spurred talk about replacing him as leader.

“Radical Zach Wahls is winning over Democrats’ progressive base in Iowa so quickly that Chuck Schumer is scrambling to save his handpicked candidate, Josh Turek,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell. “This is yet another prime example of Democrat voters flocking to anti-Schumer candidates nationwide.”
