As Chuck Schumer’s Shutdown, which is supported by Janet Mills, rages on, over 150,000 Mainers are at risk of not receiving their SNAP benefits this week.
That is why Susan Collins helped introduce legislation to ensure Mainers receive their SNAP benefits and are able to purchase groceries. This comes after she proposed her 6-point plan to open the government and sent a letter to the administration pushing for SNAP funding to be continued.
Chuck Schumer said, “Every day gets better for [Democrats],” reaffirming his shutdown’s for political leverage in their fight to give illegal aliens free healthcare. Democrats have voted 12 times to keep the government closed and Mainers are the ones paying the price. Senate Democrats even blocked commonsense legislation to pay TSA agents, air traffic controllers, and federal workers.
“While Chuck Schumer and Janet Mills are playing games with Mainers, Susan Collins is working tirelessly to ensure that families receive the assistance they need to put food on the table and feed their children,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.
