Chuck Schumer and Democrats just blocked Republican legislation to ban insider stock trading by Members of Congress and to require a valid voter ID at the ballot box, legislation that Susan Collins voted to pass.
Would Troy Jackson, who has a proven history of corruption, have joined his fellow Democrats to block this commonsense legislation?
“Troy Jackson spent his time in Augusta lining his pockets, and with Democrats blocking legislation to ban stock trading by Members of Congress, there’s no doubt his corruption would continue in Washington,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.
Troy Jackson has repeatedly used his political power to benefit his family:
- Troy Jackson’s Son Charged Nearly $200,000 Lobbying the Maine Senate in Jackson’s Final Year as Its President: Jackson’s son charged clients nearly $200,000 to influence the state legislature in the final year his father served as president of the Maine Senate.
- Troy Jackson Cosponsored Bill Sending Millions of Taxpayer Dollars to His Son’s Lobbying Client: Jackson funneled $13.4 million in additional taxpayer funding to the Maine Maritime Academy, which his son represented, in the final year as Senate President.
- Troy Jackson’s Son Repped Oil and Gas Company Lobbying Against Bill That Died in Jackson’s Senate: Global Partners LP hired Troy Jackson’s son to lobby against an energy bill that passed the House – which Jackson killed in the Senate.
