Labor costs for Mexico Joe Donnelly’s family business are going up today as Mexico raises its minimum wage to $4.70…per DAY.
This summer it was revealed that Mexico Joe had been profiting from his family’s company outsourcing manufacturing jobs to its facility in Guadalajara, where it promised “economical, cost competitive manufacturing and product development.” Mexico Joe, who previously compared low-wage Mexican manufacturing to “slave labor,” had no problem utilizing labor in a country where the minimum wage was previously $4.25 per day to make money for himself. Here’s to hoping the Donnelly family can absorb the extra 45 cents they’ll now be legally required to pay their employees!
“Instead of fighting for Indiana manufacturing, Mexico Joe raked in the profits while his family business shipped jobs to a country where it could pay workers pennies an hour,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Mexico Joe is a hypocrite who puts his own bottom line ahead of Hoosier jobs.”
