When Barack Obama promoted Tammy Duckworth out of her job as Rod Blagojevich’s hand-picked appointee, her nomination before the United States Senate was put on hold because "the math didn’t add up" in three different versions of her financial disclosure statements.

As Harry Reid seeks to promote Defendant Duckworth out of her job as an ineffective congresswoman, her candidacy for the Unites States Senate will be rejected because the math surrounding her hush money isn’t adding up.

It was revealed this week that the taxpayer-funded settlement sought by Defendant Duckworth’s taxpayer-funded legal team wasn’t $26,00 – it was nearly $40,000:

  • The AG Said The Settlement Was Only To Cover Attorney Fees And Was Worth $26,000. After a trial judge initiated a settlement conference, the case on Friday was settled for $26,000 to cover attorney fees and all costs, according to the Illinois Attorney General’s office, which represents state officials sued in their official capacities. (Tina Sfondeles And Lynn Sweet, “Lawsuit Against Duckworth Settled—But Kirk Not Letting It Go,” Chicago Sun-Times, 6/24/16)

  • The Plaintiff’s Say The AG Failed To Mention The Settlement Covered Attorney’s Fees And $9,000 To Go To Each Plaintiff For A Total Of $40,000. The original settlement offer was reported to be around $26,000, with the attorney general’s office paying for the employees’ attorney fees and other court costs. But Butler and Goins said the offer really was more like $40,000, with $21,000 of that sum paying for attorney’s fees and another $9,000 provided to each plaintiff. (Kerry Lester, “Women Reject Settlement In Duckworth Workplace Retaliation Lawsuit,” Daily Herald, 7/27/16)

Tammy’s team either blatantly lied to taxpayers about the terms of the settlement or, to use Defendant Duckworth’s own words, they "screwed up."

Illinois voters must be wondering: if Tammy Duckworth – a candidate for the United States Senate, was truly innocent in her whistleblower retaliation trial, why would she seek a settlement that pays nearly $20,000 in damages and covers tens of thousands of dollars in attorney fees for the two plaintiffs?

And, if Tammy Duckworth was truly innocent, why would the two plaintiffs reject $20,000 in damages on top of having their attorney fees covered?
