Today is the ninth day of Democrats’ government shutdown and Senate Democrats just voted for a seventh time to keep the government shuttered. Chuck Schumer’s hand-picked Senate candidate, Fake Independent Dan Osborn, said he would have voted with Democrats to “absolutely” shut down the government. In 2024, Osborn received $5,000 from Chuck Schumer’s leadership PAC to his campaign, nearly $4 million in outside spending from national Democrats, and a maxed out donation from the DSCC directly to his campaign. Additionally, ActBlue changed its rules to allow fake Independents like Osborn to use their platform

“Fake Independent Dan Osborn said he would shut down the government with Chuck Schumer and fellow fake Independent Bernie Sanders,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “There’s no doubt Osborn would have voted to continue the Democrats’ shutdown, inflicting pain on Nebraska farmers and veterans all because he wants to give free healthcare to illegal aliens.”

Today, Dan Osborn’s biggest backer, Chuck Schumer, said, “Every day [of the shutdown] gets better for us.” After a coordinated, months-long campaign with radical activists, Democrats are holding firm on liberal demands including free healthcare for illegal aliens, $1.5 trillion in new wasteful spending, and cutting $50 billion in funding for rural hospitals provided by the Working Family Tax Cuts.

Fake independent Dan Osborn is Chuck Schumer’s hand-picked Senate candidate and said he wants Democrats to shut down the government. Schumer’s Shutdown has:

  • Forced many of Nebraska’s 17,000 federal employees to work without pay or be furloughed.
  • Furloughed 2,300 civilian employees at Offutt Air Force Base.
  • Threatened financial relief for Nebraska farmers and postponed the USDA’s monthly reports farmers rely on.
  • Nebraska’s 44,300 farms and ranches which utilize 89.4% of the state’s total land area rely on the USDA’s monthly reports.
