Washington, D.C. – Democrats, plagued with messaging issues and desperate to change the subject away from inflation, have done Republicans a favor and chose to fight each other over border security and Title 42.

Not only are Democrats widely blamed for the border crisis, but it’s an issue that their base diverges drastically from the mainstream. In fact, new polling shows that 55% of U.S. voters oppose the Administration’s Title 42 decision, including 53% of independents.

When Majority Leader Chuck Schumer supported Joe Biden’s decision to rescind the Title 42 border restrictions, he set marching orders for all Senate Democrats and hopefuls.  He also wanted to make sure the President’s poorly timed decision didn’t hurt their base so close to an election.

His efforts failed and only invited criticism. Vulnerable Senators “MAGA” Maggie Hassan, Mark Kelly, Raphael Warnock, and Catherine Cortez Masto quickly came out in opposition.  As did Democrat Senate hopefuls like Mandela Barnes.

The liberal backlash has been swift as groups and activists took to social media to voice their anger.

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “The Democrats are the gift that keeps giving.  We are delighted to not only be discussing their economic failures but also their failures at keeping our southern border safe.  The cherry on top is the fact that their last-minute political posturing on Title 42 and border security will not earn them any additional votes, but will surely cost them liberal votes.”
