Unlike Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth and her ineffectiveness, her colleagues in Congress have been quite busy…undermining her Senate bid.
Congressman Bobby Rush just snubbed Duckworth by endorsing her primary opponent, Andrea Zopp.
Rush joins Congressman Danny Davis, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Michael Madigan, Chicago City Treasurer Kurt Summers, the Cook County Democratic Party, Michael Sacks – Mayor Emanuel’s “go-to-guy,” and the chiefs of staff for both Barack and Michelle Obama in refusing to endorse Tammy Duckworth.
If those who know Tammy Duckworth best – including her own Democrat colleagues in Congress, don’t support her bid to seek a promotion in Washington, why would the people of Illinois?
Such disapproval from one’s own colleagues and allies would prove to be disqualifying for an entry-level job, nonetheless for a seat in the United States Senate.
Apart from setting the stage for awkward water cooler chatter in the House Democratic Cloakroom, Reps. Rush and Davis have made clear that the DSCC’s insistence to meddle in this messy primary continues to "roil democrats."
As she cannot rely on current colleagues for support, perhaps Tammy Duckworth can count on former boss Rod Blagojevich to again vouch for her?
