Washington, D.C. – Joe Biden has announced his pick to replace Stephen Breyer on the Supreme Court: Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Judge Jackson’s record deserves examination. Her record on the two marquee issues of the day, immigration and crime, is concerning, at best:
- She ruled against expedited deportations to help alleviate the crisis at our southern border.
- She supported the early release of thousands of prisoners.
Judge Jackson is also a favorite of liberal groups funded by dark money. Vulnerable Senate Democrats like Maggie Hassan, Mark Kelly, Raphael Warnock, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Michael Bennet – who love to feign outrage at dark money’s influence in politics – are ready to rubber-stamp Joe Biden’s liberal nominee just like they’ve rubber-stamped Joe Biden’s liberal agenda.
Statement from NRSC Chairman Rick Scott: “Democrats are preparing to rubber-stamp President Biden’s liberal nominee, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, without any meaningful discussion of her positions and opinions. Judge Jackson has written only two opinions in her current position and has had a decision reversed unanimously by her D.C. Circuit Court colleagues for applying the wrong legal standard – a rare rebuke on one of the nation’s highest courts. Our country deserves better. Senate Democrats have blindly rubber-stamped Joe Biden’s disastrous liberal agenda for over a year and we have no doubt they’re ready and willing to rubber-stamp his liberal Supreme Court nominee. Thankfully, it will be one of the last votes many Senate Democrats take.”
