Washington, D.C. – The Democrats appear to be in denial about their losses among Hispanic voters. Each day that we get closer to the 2022 midterm election, the Democrats continue to lose support. It seems like they can’t figure out why, but they simply need to look in the mirror to find the answer.
The evidence is clear. Hispanics support the Republican agenda of smaller government, capitalism, and secure borders. And they reject the Democrats’ agenda of big government, socialism, and open borders.

Of all the 2020 hangovers, perhaps none is as befuddling to Democrats as the party’s eroding support among Latino voters.
And Democrats have plenty of reason to worry: For years, they have relied on Latinos as a crucial part of a winning coalition and held fast to the belief that the coalition would only grow along with new voters. Former President Donald J. Trump’s policies and rhetorical attacks on immigrants, many Democrats reasoned, would drive Hispanic voters to their party like no other candidate could.
The Cook Political Report is also sounding the alarm on the serious problem the Democrats are facing.
So, why have Democrats been bleeding support from Latino voters? Some, like Teixeira, argue that “Democrats have seriously erred by lumping Hispanics in with ‘people of color’ and assuming they embraced the activism around racial issues that dominated so much of the political scene in 2020, particularly in the summer.” Others think high-profile political figures like Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have served to brand the Democrats as the party of “socialism.” Others argue that Trump was better trusted on the economy, especially among Latino men. Groups like The Third Way point to the education gap, similar to that among white voters.
The evidence is clear that Hispanics increasingly disapprove of President Biden and the Democrats. Will Democrat Senators like Mark Kelly, Raphael Warnock, Catherine Cortez Masto, Maggie Hassan, and Michael Bennet fully support their failing agenda or stand up to their party leaders and fight for the Hispanic community?
