Washington, D.C. – As Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats watch their agenda collapse before their eyes, they have begun to do some very unusual things. The latest example is Bernie Sanders expressing a willingness yesterday to raise the cap on State and Local Tax (SALT) deductions.
If you’re confused, you’re not alone. Socialist Bernie Sanders is openly advocating giving tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires living in high-tax states like Chuck Schumer’s New York and Nancy Pelosi’s California. It’s an idea that Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez once called a “giveaway to the rich.”
Since Chuck Schumer is so scared that AOC may primary him, especially as her progressive wish list is dead on arrival in a Senate chamber that still honors the filibuster, it is likely that he will be happy to see Bernie give him cover to cut taxes for his Manhattan friends.
