Washington, D.C. – Joe Biden’s disastrous first year in office leaves vulnerable Senate Democrats and Senate hopefuls in a bind. Do they want to be seen with the leader of their party whose approval rating is under water? The fact that Democrats are even having this conversation shows just how worried they are about the midterms. As they should be.
Recently, Pennsylvania Senate hopeful John Fetterman attempted to avoid being seen with Joe Biden in Pennsylvania. And Senate hopefuls like Tim Ryan and Val Demings won’t say if they want Biden’s endorsement.
But some vulnerable Senators like Catherine Cortez Masto are fully embracing Biden. She must not have seen Biden’s terrible numbers in Nevada.
Joe Biden said he is going to be “deeply involved” in Democrats’ midterm campaigns. We hope that’s the case. Because Senators like Mark Kelly, Raphael Warnock, Catherine Cortez Masto, Maggie Hassan, and Michael Bennet will have a tough time explaining to voters why they support Biden’s inflation-inducing, open borders agenda.
