Washington, D.C. – With their ‘Build Back Broke’ agenda now circling the drain, Senate Democrats are scrambling to score a legislative win this year to show their base they’re doing something…anything. Typically when lawmakers look for an easy win, they seek to pass popular, bipartisan legislation. But not Senate Democrats. Chuck Schumer and his radical caucus are instead rushing forward with a half-baked plan to ban voter ID laws.
Senate Democrats must have forgotten that banning voter ID laws is an extremely unpopular idea and nowhere close to being an easy, bipartisan win. According to NRSC polling, 77% of voters are in favor of voter ID requirements at the polls, including more than 80% of Independent voters.
