Claire McCaskill and her good friend Hillary Clinton have made clear what they think of folks in Missouri, but McCaskill doesn’t want to talk about it anymore.
Just days after McCaskill criticized her constituents for electing a “reality TV star president,” Hillary Clinton told an audience overseas that states in the Heartland like Missouri that supported President Trump over her in 2016 did so because they were racist, sexist and “looking backwards.” When pressed on Clinton’s comments, McCaskill responded, “Oh come on. You’re killing me here.” McCaskill had better get used to facing criticism of her support for a candidate who so clearly disdains the Heartland voters who rejected her, because it’s not going away any time soon.
“Missourians can see right through Washington elites like Claire McCaskill and Hillary Clinton, and that is why President Trump won the state by 19 points,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “McCaskill doesn’t want to answer questions about Hillary because she has made it clear that she agrees with Clinton’s assessment of Missouri voters.”
