As Politico reports, "Democrats never mentioned terrorism on Day One of DNC":
Republicans’ claim that Democrats did not mention terrorism or ISIL on the first night of the Democratic National Convention is correct, Politifact said Tuesday morning…Based on our searches of C-SPAN closed-captioning text, Congressional Quarterly transcripts and other video archiving services, we couldn’t find any speaker who mentioned "ISIS," "Islamic" "terror," "terrorist," or "terrorism" during the first day of the convention,” Politifact wrote.
Just like all 61 speeches at the DNC last night, Senator Feingold’s 18-year voting record failed to address the global terror threat we face.
During his two decades in Washington, DC, Senator Feingold was the only senator to vote against increasing terrorism surveillance, the only senator to vote against extending the lone wolf terrorist provision, and was one of only nine senators to vote against creating the Department of Homeland Security.
Senator Feingold also voted at least 11 times against defense authorizations and sponsored legislation to terminate the plane that launched the first airstrikes against ISIS.
A party that doesn’t even mention the threat posed by ISIS aligns seamlessly with a career politician who fails to understand it.
Should tonight’s speakers wish to correct the glaring absence, we recommend taking some notes from Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson’s prime-time address at the 2016 Republican National Convention:
