Fresh off a slew of new polls showing a tight race in New Jersey between disgraced Senator Bob Menendez and Bob Hugin, national Democrats are hitting the panic button.
After their ad buy in late August failed to stop the bleeding, the DSCC is back, putting more than $400,000 into TV ads in the Garden State starting tomorrow. With polls across the country showing red state Dems in tight races, it’s notable that Senate Democrats’ campaign arm has hit the panic button and is plowing hundreds of thousands of dollars into a deep blue state to prop up a hopelessly toxic candidate.
“National Democrats are finally recognizing what has been clear for months – disgraced Senator Bob Menendez is toxic among New Jersey voters and his seat is in serious jeopardy,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Democrats’ decision to stick by a known crook will come back to haunt them when New Jersey elects Bob Hugin in November.”
