In response to Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement announcement, national Democrats are lurching to the left to show their eagerness to obstruct President Trump’s agenda.
The far-left’s favorite 2020 contender, California Senator Kamala Harris, appeared on MSNBC and proudly proclaimed that EVERY Senate Democrat is “prepared to play hardball” and block any individual President Trump nominates to the Supreme Court.
But what about red state Democrats hailing from states President Trump handily carried in 2016?
Are vulnerable Dems willing to side with their far-left colleagues to hold hostage an extremely qualified nominee to the nation’s highest court for the sake of party politics? After hostile liberals like Maxine Waters have already created problems for them back home, red state Dems are desperate to balance their “moderate” facades without alienating their “resist” base.
So what will red state Dems choose: the partisan antics of Kamala Harris or a fully-functioning and highly qualified Supreme Court?
