Washington, D.C. – Last week, Mike Franken stated that a new poll shows that he “continues to close in on Grassley.” But that is FALSE.

The poll that Franken is referring to shows that Senator Grassley is expanding his lead on Franken (compared to their poll right before). Awkward.

A couple things to keep in mind:

  • The pollsters Franken touts was off by 20 points in Congressman Feenstra’s race in 2020. They had him winning by 5 (Oct. 13-15 poll), but he won by 24.2 on Election Day a few weeks later.
  • And the same year, their poll on Oct 29-Nov 1 predicted Teresa Greenfield winning by 1 point. Joni Ernst went on to win by almost 7 points.

In the spring, Franken said Grassley would be “behind by seven, eight, ten points, he’s going to have a problem” before the summer ended.  But, in fact, Grassley is up by double digits according to MSNBC.

Looks like Mike Franken needs a tutorial in elementary school arithmetic.
